Hi! My name is Mary Katherine Hopkins. Welcome to my Blog site. I will be sharing the concepts and the creation of my on going projects and custom work, here, on these pages. I hope I can help you gain the courage to try some of these methods. If nothing else you can watch me as I experiment with ideas and mediums. I do make a lot of different things and some are definitely better than others. Feel free to critique my work and my instructions. If you need more info or are interested in my creating something just for you, please contact me.

Welcome to the 21C. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work and creations.
I’m sitting here , in Aruba , thinking how ”we” will make our next millions and suddenly it came to me ( not really me but Gillian ). Our room only has 2 kingsize beds , but each of them has a runner on the base (cheap imitation type quilt) with the resort name yadda dadda da . Why not go all “Folk Art / Americana / HOMEY / and provide a designer / Jill adverage bed decor type runner for setting the perfect theme for their rooms . These are basically the width of the bed , plus 1 foot each side , on a ”quilted runner ”, and any theme you pick . If pictures are required , I can stay and research the subject. Pretty tough sledding down here though , but we will wait for your responce . Ta Ta for now , johnnie.
Fantastic!
That’s an awesome looking Cheshire cat!!! Seems oddly familiar.
Welcome to the World Wide Web! With use geeks around, we’ll get your wonderful work noticed on-line.
Keep creating! I love the big piece you used for the banner.
That cat is one of a kind, Olaf. One of a kind.

Hey Mar – this is fabulous – and cousin Johnnie is in Aruba – nice he is looking out for you. I need to take photos of your wonderful work that I have here on display. so… how do blogs work – do I just wander into your website on my daily surfing or is it like facebook that I get notified when you write something. be patient with your little sister -who just doesn’t have tons of time to surf..
Wonderful planning and executing of ideas. Your artistic ability went in a different direction than mine did. I’m the fortunate person who went with you last Fall when you entered 6 quilted hangings in the quilting contest and won in 5 out of 6 catagories. Keep up the good work! XOXO Judy
Mary. Again your work astounds me. I just received your shipment of extraordinary wall art. It will be my pleasure to display your work proudly at Le Beausoleil gallery. I always beam when I tell my guests my sister does the art work. Heather
Well, Mary Katherine, you blew my socks off. I really fell into a lot of your quilts and had to struggled to get out again. I am so happy you are on the Quilt Board, but also a little surprised. By being on you allow people like me to “discover” you, but you so outshine most of the other work! The detailed “patterned” quilts you may or may not outshine are staid in comparison to what you do.
I am so computer unsavy (I’m old) that I can’t even get my pictures on QB. But I do love the mountains, have done 2 Yosemite quilts… (wondered about your double waterfall, it looks suspecious), some NW First Nation work (one took a couple of prizes in a pretty big show), but most of my quilts depend on for whom I am making them. A granddaughter is coming this summer to learn to quilt, and being from Alaska she years for a leaf quilt, with REAL fall leaf colors. That should be fun! I’ve made just over a hundred, some fun, some OK, some oh oh.
Your are my hero. My goals are enough like what you are doing that I am going to spend some real time looking at your quilts. Thank you for making them available to me.
